En Garde Fencing Classes

En Garde Fencing teaches numerous classes in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park and Sebastopol. Fencing is often seen as an expensive sport, but we work hard to make it affordable and fun. If you are interested in trying fencing, check out our membership page for more information on the cost of classes. Once you see how easy it is to get started, take a look at our list of classes and come try us out! Equipment is provided free of charge in all classes.

Club Classes at En Garde Fencing

Beginner Drop-In Classes (all ages)
Half-hour drop-in class every Wednesday from 6:30-7:00PM and Saturday 11:00-11:30AM. No experience is necessary! This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the sport of fencing to decide if this is the right sport for you. Cost is $15 per class.
Youth Fencing (7-12)
Intermediate Saber and Foil classes every Wednesday from 5-6pm, Fridays from 5:30-6:30pm, and Saturdays 10-11am. Become a member and gain the skills needed to engage in tournament level fencing. Students with electric equipment get to fence for an extra half hour each class!
Teen/Adult Fencing
Club Fencing Nights are available for teen and adult members every week on Mondays from 7-9PM (for epee), Wednesdays from 7-9PM, Fridays from 7-10PM and Saturdays from 12:00-2PM (all weapons).
Home School Classes
Our home school fencing class meets on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30AM during the months of September through May. We are excited to offer this class to students in the Santa Rosa area.

Community Education Classes

Santa Rosa Finley Community Center
Two great classes for kids and adults. Fencing for Kids ages 7-12 Thursdays 4-5PM and Teen and Adult Fencing ages 13+ Thursdays 5:30-6:30PM. Perfect for beginners! Call 707-543-3737 to sign up for introductory sessions.
Rohnert Park Community Center
Youth Beginning Fencers ages 7-12, Mondays 4-5PM. Call 707-588-3456 to sign up.
Sebastopol Community Center
Youth Beginning Fencers ages 7-12 Tuesdays 4-5PM. Call 707-823-1511 to sign up.

After-School Programs
Jim is available as an after-school instructor. Regular classes taught at The Healdsburg School and for the Santa Rosa Christian School during the school year. Contact Jim for details.
PE Class Guest Teacher
Jim is available to teach guest fencing PE classes at your school! Affordable rates and a flexible schedule. Contact Jim.
Home School Classes
Our home school fencing class meets at En Garde Fencing on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30AM. We are excited to offer this class to students in the Santa Rosa area.

Private Lessons

Available by appointment. Private lessons provide you with the opportunity to focus on critical aspects of your fencing skills in a one-on-one setting. Lessons are very valuable for students who are interested in participating in competitions. Contact Jim for more information.

Birthday Parties and Special Events

En Garde Fencing has a large open space with about 3,000 sq. ft. of wood flooring. Contact Jim if you are interested in renting the space for special events, conducting a morning yoga class, or celebrating a birthday party. (Yes, we do fencing birthday parties!)

Our Facility

En Garde Fencing is located at 917 Piner Road in Santa Rosa, conveniently close to Highway 101. We're fortunate to have a spacious facility, with approximately 3,000 square feet of beautiful wood flooring, 6 strips and lots of fencers to train with. Come join us on Monday, Wednesday or Friday nights and enjoy an evening of fun and excitement with our growing family of fencers.
